Gently spin the inner part of the gyroscope until you see arrows that indicate the direction to spin. With your arm extended and the exposed part facing toward the hard surface, take the gyroscope and quickly run the inner part of the gyroscope on the surface and have it spin in the direction that the arrows indicate.
